About Us:
Our soy candles are manufactured in our home on the Foreside Road in Topsham. Our home is a conversion of a 1790's barn, hence the name, Barn Star Candle. We pour container candles and make pillar candles, reed diffusers, and tarts, mostly for distribution at area craft fairs. You can find our candles locally at Lisa Marie's Made in Maine store in downtown Bath, the Harraseeket Inn gift shop in Freeport, and at Studio 119 Hair Salon in Brunswick.
Why Soy Wax?
Barn Star candles are made with 100% soy wax and zinc-free braided cotton wicks. Our candles do have fragrance oil, but we can provide unscented upon request. We also carry "Barn Star Essentials" made with all natural "essential oil" varieties.
* Made from soy beans that are farmed in the USA. Supports US Agriculture
* Paraffin is a petroleum based material that emits known carcinogens and toxins. These are not present in Soy wax, which comes from organic matter.
* Burns evenly and longer than other waxes.
* Burns cleaner than paraffin, emits far less soot.
* People who suffer from asthma and can not burn paraffin candles are usually able to burn soy.
