I personally sculpt and create all my faeries individually. Each faery is one of a kind from over 200 different original designs. I have been creating them since 1997 when they first danced with me in a dream......
No molds are used in their making. Each face has it's own personality formed by the clay, glass beads and hand painted features that are part of their make-up. Each is given it's own name from whimsical, flower or ancient Celtic lore.
I gather natural materials from the mystical and magical woodlands, mossy streambanks, marshes and wild birdlands of Maine to use in their design. Small twigs become flutes, an acorn or bird feather adorns an elfin cap. Many of their costumes are made from treasured bits of vintage fabric and lace.
Faeries are about innocence, the mystical and the mysterious. These qualities, have been lost and if reclaimed would make the world a better place. Faeries are for the lost child in all of us and the magic and awe I see in the eyes of those who believe.
I like to think that I am in some sense a "way shower" that somehow through my faeries I am helping to light the way back...
